Ireton Medical Clinic in Ireton, IA
Ireton is located 10 miles east of Hawarden on Hiway 10. It is the home of 700 friendly, down to earth rural Iowans.

The Ireton Medical Center was opened in 1981 by Dr. Harvey and a group of Ireton citizens with a loan from Sioux County. The clinic will celebrate 20 years of service to the community in 2001. Staffed by Glenda VerHoeven, the clinic is open four days a week. The Ireton Clinic remains a fixture on Ireton's main street. The clinic is located on the west side of Main Street, just north of the post office. The top picture should help you find the right place. There has been some confusion since The Sioux Center Mercy Clinic opened the Ireton Mercy Clinic just across the street. If you can explain to me why a rational person would think a community of 700 people requires two clinics, please e-mail me.
The Ireton Clinic is open from 10:00 - 2:30 weekdays except Thursday.

Glenda VerHoeven is there during those hours. Providers are there from 12:30 - 2:00 to see patients.

"When we were evicted from the Hawarden Clinic by Mercy, and weren't even given an extension to allow us to complete our building. We had to find a way to stay open in the interim. Well, we went to Ireton. A building made for two was suddenly home to ten. We added temporary rooms, remodeled the building and struggled through. The people of Ireton bent over backward to make the Ireton Medical Clinic as usable as possible during our transition to the Hawarden Family Medical Center. I will never forget the generosity and support we received from them during our time of need."
